The newsletter this month was discussing two factors of happiness which are managing personal finances and developing work life balance. For many people work life balance may seem more like a myth than a possibility. Learning to live in the present moment is a start to creating that balance.

He said, “There are only two days in the year that nothing can be done. One is called yesterday and the other is called tomorrow, so today is the right day to love, believe, do and mostly live.” --- Dalai Lama
So, what does the present moment look like? It is when you take notice of where you are sitting or standing, what you are doing, what your surroundings look like, how you are feeling and more. It's not early this morning or this evening, it's right now. The reason the present moment matters when trying to achieve balance in your life is that it is the only reality, it's not a memory of the past or a dream of the future.
Today's Coaching Challenge
So, in this present moment what would a balanced life look like to you? That answer would be different for everyone, yet if you can't define it, you will have little chance of achieving it.
To start creating balance it will be important to readjust your priorities. Do you want more quality time with loved ones, better health, time to travel and relax? These are some of the questions to ask yourself.
Action to take
Everyone wanting more balance has different issues than someone else, it's not always about working too many hours. Start by looking at your week and how your time is spent. Then decide what you would ideally like your life to be. From that point you can find one small thing to change to get you going in the right direction.
Always supporting you, Jan
