With people becoming so disconnected due to modern life and technology, it’s important to get back to some basic family values. Let’s take a look at that theme throughout the month. How about spending more time together?

“Eating together as a family isn’t just about food; it’s about growing closer, supporting each other, and building bonds that hold strong.” – Unknown
While getting together for meals is not done as frequently as it was when I was a child it is just as relevant for a family today as it was then. How can you expect to stay connected to your family if all you do is say "Hi" in passing. Maintaining a strong bond is even more important than ever with all the distractions in everyone's lives including your kids.
Today's Coaching Challenge
For the next week, prioritize at least three shared meals with your family. These meals don’t need to be fancy—they can be breakfast, lunch, or dinner—but they should be tech-free, distraction-free, and focused on connection. To start some conversation, you might want to ask something like--"What’s one thing you’re looking forward to this week?"
Just as important as getting together is to listen to every person without interruption. Each person's time is precious and by doing some active listening you are learning more about them and letting them feel valued.
Action to take
After the week, sit down as a family and ask: What worked? What did we enjoy most? What could we do differently next time? Use this feedback to incorporate regular connection time into your routine.
Always supporting you, Jan
