December can be wonderful — but let’s be honest, it can also be loud, busy, and a little overwhelming. That’s why creating small pockets of quiet is not selfish; it’s smart. Stepping away from the noise, even briefly, helps you reset, breathe, and move through the month with more grace and less overload.

Quote
“Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes… including you.” — Anne Lamott

Quiet time isn’t a luxury; it’s a necessity. When the world speeds up, your nervous system needs moments to slow down. Maybe it’s lingering for a moment under a warm blanket before getting up, taking a peaceful breath at a stoplight, or enjoying the quiet before the house wakes — tiny pockets of calm that give you room to breathe.

We often feel guilty for stepping back, but stillness is not avoidance. It’s nourishment. It gives your mind room to settle and your heart room to soften.

Coaching Question
Where can you intentionally create a small moment of quiet this week to help you stay grounded during the busyness of the season?

You don’t need hours of solitude. You simply need intentional pauses that bring you back to yourself. The warmer, quieter version of you shows up better for the people you care about — and for the responsibilities on your plate. Giving yourself calm isn’t stepping away from life… it’s stepping into it with more presence.

Action to Take
Choose one place in your day to add a 1–2 minute pause. Close your eyes, breathe deeply, and let your shoulders drop. Repeat as often as you need — your quiet reset button is always available.
