Sometimes, overwhelm isn’t mysterious. It isn’t emotional. It isn’t about mindset. Sometimes… you simply have too much on your plate.

 Quote

“The problem is not that we have too much to do, but that we have too much to do that does not matter.” — Peter Drucker

This one sounds obvious — but it’s worth examining honestly.

Is your schedule overcommitted?
Are you saying yes automatically?
Have your responsibilities quietly multiplied without your awareness?

Because you’re capable, dependable, and responsible, things stack up easily. You agree to one more meeting. Take on one more project. Help one more person. Then suddenly, one small request feels like too much.

Today's Coaching Challenge

If you looked at your calendar with fresh eyes, would you say it reflects your priorities — or just your availability?

Sometimes the issue isn’t coping skills. Its capacity. Logistical overwhelm happens when your time, energy, and attention are already fully allocated. There’s no margin. No buffer. No breathing room. Even good opportunities feel heavy when there’s no space to hold them. This isn’t about blame. It’s about awareness. If your plate is too full, the solution isn’t to push harder. It’s to remove, delegate, delay, or decline something.

Action to take

Look at the next two weeks and identify one commitment you can reschedule, delegate, or release. Protecting your capacity is not selfish — it’s strategic.
