When overwhelm hits, it can feel like it came out of nowhere… but most of the time, it didn’t. It’s often the result of unfinished things quietly taking up space in your mind.
Quote
“You can do anything, but not everything.” — David Allen
Overwhelm isn’t always about the size of the task in front of you — it’s about the number of unresolved things you’re carrying. Projects half-started.---Decisions you’ve delayed.---Emails you haven’t answered.---Conversations you need to have. That invisible mental load adds up.
Today's Coaching Challenge
What are the top three unresolved things currently taking up space in your head?
Your brain does not like loose ends. When something is unfinished or undecided, your mind keeps bringing it back up — almost like it’s tapping you on the shoulder saying, “Don’t forget me.”
Set a timer for two minutes and quickly write down everything that feels unresolved or hanging over you. Don’t organize it. Don’t judge it. Just get it out of your head and onto paper.
Then ask: Does this need a decision?---Does this need one small next step?---Or does this need to be removed entirely? Clarity reduces overwhelm because your brain no longer has to hold everything at once.
Action to take
Choose one item from your list and take one small, defined step on it today — even if it only takes 10 minutes. Small movement creates relief.
