Stress shows up in all kinds of ways—but one of the simplest ways to counter it is through laughter. It’s more than just a feel-good moment; it triggers real changes in the body, helping to calm your nervous system and lift your mood.  This week let's start laughing at ourselves.

“Being able to laugh at yourself is the sign of a well-adjusted adult.”  – Unknown

Let’s face it — we all have awkward moments, forgetful flubs, and things we wish we’d said differently. The trick isn’t to avoid them — it’s to laugh at them. When you can giggle at your own quirks, you release pressure, connect more easily with others, and prove you’re comfortable in your own skin.

How do you usually react when you make a mistake? What would shift if you responded with humor instead of embarrassment or frustration?

Laughing at yourself isn’t weakness — it’s wisdom. It means you’ve stopped letting your ego run the show. It frees you from perfectionism and opens the door to authentic connection, both with others and with yourself.

Action to take

This week, notice when you get self-critical. Pause, take a breath, and ask, “If my best friend did this, would I be laughing with them?” Try offering yourself that same kindness.
