Sometimes you might underestimate the impact of the smallest moments. In a world that moves quickly and pulls your attention in so many directions, it’s easy to think that only the big actions really matter.

 Quote

“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word…” — Leo Buscaglia

A kind word doesn’t require extra time. A smile doesn’t require effort. But both can completely shift someone’s experience. When you pause and think about it, it’s often the smallest interactions—the quick smile, the thoughtful word, the moment of genuine attention—that stay with us the longest. Those are the moments that quietly shape how we feel, how we connect, and even how we remember our day.

The challenge is… when life gets busy, you move fast. You focus on tasks, deadlines, and getting through the day. Connection becomes optional.  And without even realizing it, you can be more of a human doing instead of a human being. Not because you don’t care—but because you’re distracted, preoccupied, or just trying to keep up.

Today's Coaching Challenge

Where in your daily routine are you moving so quickly that you might be missing opportunities to connect?

Take a moment to really think about that. Is it with a coworker? A rushed conversation at home? A brief interaction with someone helping you during your day? These moments are easy to overlook, but they are also the easiest places to make a meaningful shift. When you begin to notice where you’re rushing, you create the opportunity to choose differently. When you slow down—even just slightly—you start to notice people again.

Action to take

Today, choose one interaction to be fully present in. Make eye contact. Listen fully. Offer a genuine smile.

Always supporting you,                                                                                                                                                                                                  Jan
