This month my Java's will expand on 3 of the questions in the quiz given in the newsletter. These deal with forcing yourself, avoiding conflict, and subordinating your own needs to that of others. The question this week is true or false: I schedule my work time around my client's needs rather than around my own.
"Putting yourself first doesn't mean you don't care about others. It means you're smart enough to know you can't help others if you don't help yourself first."--Anon
Even on airplanes, they tell you to put your mask on first before helping a child or co-traveler needing assistance. Why, because if you aren't breathing you are not going to be able to help anyone else. When did you decide to let your clients dictate your schedule? You know that doesn't happen at a doctor's or dentist's office. In those instances, they tell you the times they have available and you pick the one that works best for you.
Today's coaching challenge
What is the greatest priority in your life, your family, or your work? If you said your family, what time do you get home?
When did your family, your health, or your happiness become less important than the needs of your clients? You are important and you deserve to have a life outside of the office.
Action to take
What one small change could you make today so you realize that your needs are important?
Always supporting you, Jan
