Pivoting sounds so graceful in theory—like you’re effortlessly adjusting, turning with confidence, and flowing with whatever comes next. In reality? It can feel clunky, uncertain, and downright messy. That doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong. It means you’re human. Life rarely gives us perfect conditions for change, and meaningful progress often starts in less-than-perfect moments.
Quote
“You don’t have to get it perfect. You just have to get it going.” —Marie Forleo
This quote is a gentle reminder that progress isn’t about performance—it’s about movement. Responding with intention, even if it’s wobbly or unsure, is far more powerful than staying stuck in fear or frustration.
Coaching Question: Where in your life are you holding yourself to unrealistic standards during times of change?
Often, we expect ourselves to pivot with grace, speed, and a smile—even when we’re navigating something hard. But what if you allowed it to be awkward? What if you gave yourself permission to do it imperfectly and still count it as a win?
Action to Take: This week, notice one area where you’re being hard on yourself. Pause, breathe, and offer yourself some grace. Remind yourself: “I don’t need to be perfect to make progress.” Then take one small step forward, messiness and all.
Always supporting you, Jan
