This month we are looking at change and whether you embrace it or resist it. Let's face it, it is certainly easier when things flow pretty much as you expected, and you don't have a lot of challenges or major decisions to make. However, life isn't set up that way and you are dealing with change every day. This week I ask you how true is this statement for you? In order to make a necessary change, I am willing to risk the disapproval and lack of support from others.
"Success also requires the courage to risk disapproval. Most independent thought, new ideas, or endeavors beyond the common measure are greeted with disapproval, ranging from skepticism and ridicule to violent outrage."--Chin-Ning Chu
Being willing to make a change when the people you care about may disapprove takes courage. It also shows that you have high self-esteem and the conviction to either follow your dream or do what you think is right.
Today's Coaching Challenge
What have you avoided doing because you were afraid of disapproval? How would your life change if you decided to take action anyway?
Sometimes having the courage to make the change and take action doesn't meet with as much disapproval as you thought it would.
Action to take
What first step could you take today towards that change you have been putting off?
Always supporting you, Jan
